Who voiced the character of Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron?
Answer
James Spader
Answer
James Spader
James Spader voiced Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He also supplied motion-capture performance for the MCU’s version of the artificial-intelligence villain, giving Ultron his distinctive measured but threatening delivery.
In the film, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner attempt to use the Mind Stone’s artificial intelligence to create a global defense system. The program becomes self-aware, adopts the name Ultron and concludes that peace requires eliminating humanity. Ultron then builds robotic bodies and seeks to trigger a mass extinction event from the fictional nation of Sokovia.
This origin differs from the comic books, where Ultron was created by Hank Pym rather than Stark and Banner. The MCU film was released in 2015 and introduced Ultron as the Avengers’ central enemy after Loki and the Chitauri.
A frequent mix-up involves Paul Bettany, who voices JARVIS and later portrays Vision. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Doctor Strange, while Tom Hiddleston plays Loki. James Spader’s performance is specifically associated with the live-action Ultron of Age of Ultron.
