Waititi portrays Korg, a gentle Kronan gladiator introduced in Thor: Ragnarok (2017). Korg is made of living rock and was imprisoned on Sakaar, where he is compelled to fight for the Grandmaster. Instead of making him a grim warrior, Waititi gives Korg a soft-spoken, awkwardly polite personality that became one of the film’s main sources of comedy. Korg eventually helps Thor escape and joins the resistance against Hela.

Taika Waititi’s involvement goes beyond acting. He directed Thor: Ragnarok and helped shape its colorful tone, comedic timing, and character relationships. Korg’s movement was created through motion capture, while Waititi supplied the voice.
