What is the home planet of Thanos?

The story behind the answer

Thanos’s home planet is Titan, a fictional world in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos explains that Titan was once prosperous but faced catastrophic overpopulation and dwindling resources. His proposed solution was to eliminate half of the population, an idea that made him an outcast and helped shape his campaign to collect the Infinity Stones.

The MCU depicts Titan as a ruined, barren world rather than as a thriving civilization. Thanos returns there to obtain the Time Stone from Doctor Strange, leading to a major battle involving Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The planet’s devastated appearance reflects the consequences of the collapse Thanos claims he wanted to prevent.

Titan also has a comics counterpart. In Marvel Comics, it is associated with Saturn’s moon and is home to the Titanian Eternals. The MCU version is generally treated as a planet in its own right, which is why it should not be confused with Sakaar, Asgard, or Xandar.
