Who was the first winner of the Billboard Chart Achievement Award in 2015?

Taylor Swift was the first winner of the Billboard Chart Achievement Award in 2015.

The award was introduced at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards as a fan-voted honor recognizing an artist’s chart impact. Swift won it during a ceremony held on May 17, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Swift’s victory reflected the enormous commercial reach of her album 1989 and singles such as “Shake It Off.” She was the night’s biggest winner, taking home eight trophies from 14 nominations, including Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album.

A common mix-up is confusing the Chart Achievement Award with Billboard’s standard chart-based categories. Unlike categories such as Top Artist, this award incorporated a public vote, making it especially tied to fan support as well as chart performance. Later winners included Rihanna, The Weeknd, Maroon 5 and Bad Bunny.
