Who received the most awards at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards?

Morgan Wallen received the most awards at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, winning 11 honors.

The ceremony took place on November 19, 2023, and recognized chart performance from the eligibility period leading up to the event. Wallen’s strong year was driven largely by his album One Thing at a Time and its songs, especially “Last Night.” He won categories spanning country music and Billboard’s major overall charts.

Wallen’s 11 victories put him ahead of Taylor Swift, who won 10 awards. Swift nevertheless led all artists in nominations, receiving 20, while Morgan Wallen was among the ceremony’s biggest winners. The distinction between nominations and wins is important: the most-nominated artist was not the artist with the most awards.

The 2023 show was unusual because it was presented as a digital-only event through Billboard’s website and social media platforms rather than a conventional broadcast ceremony. Its winners were still determined through Billboard’s chart-based award system.

A common mix-up is confusing Wallen’s 11-award total with his individual category wins, such as Top Artist or Top Billboard 200 Album.
