Who played drums on Pearl Jam’s debut album Ten?

The story behind the answer

Dave Krusen played drums on Pearl Jam’s debut album Ten.

Krusen joined the band during its early formation in Seattle and recorded the drum parts for Ten in 1991. He performed on every track of the album, including “Alive,” “Even Flow,” and “Jeremy.”

Krusen left Pearl Jam shortly after the recording sessions because of personal and health-related difficulties. Dave Abbruzzese then became the drummer for the group’s early touring period and played on later albums, including Vs. and Vitalogy.

The changing drummer lineup can cause confusion because Matt Cameron later became Pearl Jam’s long-term drummer. Cameron joined in 1998, after earlier playing with Soundgarden, so he was not the drummer on Ten.
