Which 1991 tribute album was recorded by members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam for Andrew Wood?

Temple of the Dog was the 1991 tribute album recorded by members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam for Andrew Wood. Chris Cornell began writing songs after Wood’s death, and the project grew into a supergroup featuring musicians connected to both Seattle bands.

The lineup included Cornell, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Matt Cameron. Eddie Vedder also contributed vocals, most notably on “Hunger Strike,” a duet with Cornell. Ament, Gossard, McCready, and Vedder were also members of the newly formed Pearl Jam.

The album was released by A&M Records on April 16, 1991. It initially had modest sales but gained much wider attention after Pearl Jam and Soundgarden became internationally successful.
