Who played drums on Nirvana’s albums Nevermind and In Utero?
Answer
Dave Grohl
Answer
Dave Grohl
Dave Grohl played drums on Nirvana’s albums Nevermind and In Utero.
Grohl joined Nirvana in 1990, replacing drummer Chad Channing. His forceful playing became an important part of the band’s recorded sound, especially during the sessions that produced Nevermind.
Nevermind was recorded in 1991 with producer Butch Vig, while In Utero was recorded later with Steve Albini and completed with additional mixing by Scott Litt. Grohl remained Nirvana’s drummer through the band’s final period.
After Cobain’s death and Nirvana’s dissolution in 1994, Grohl formed Foo Fighters. He initially recorded the first Foo Fighters album largely by himself, then developed the project into a full band. This later career often causes the two groups to be linked in music-history questions, but Grohl’s Nirvana role was specifically drummer, not guitarist or lead singer.
