Who hosted the 2022 Billboard Music Awards?

Sean Combs hosted the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. The ceremony took place on May 15, 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and Combs was credited under his then-used stage name, Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Combs was more than the evening’s presenter: he also served as an executive producer alongside Robert Deaton. The show aired live on NBC and streamed through Peacock. His role reflected his long connection to the music industry as a rapper, producer, label executive, and television personality.

The 2022 ceremony featured performances from artists including Silk Sonic, Florence and the Machine, Megan Thee Stallion, Morgan Wallen, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran, and Machine Gun Kelly. Olivia Rodrigo led the night with seven awards, while Drake won Top Artist. A frequent mix-up is identifying a performer or presenter as host; hosting means guiding the ceremony itself, a role Combs held throughout the broadcast.
