Evan Davis has presented the main British television programme Dragon's Den since its launch.
Davis is a British broadcaster and journalist who became the programme's presenter when Dragon's Den began in 2005. His role is to introduce the entrepreneurs, frame the pitches and help the audience follow the negotiations between founders and investors.
The presenter is distinct from the dragons. The dragons are the businesspeople who question contestants and decide whether to make an offer; Davis acts as the programme's host and editorial guide. This distinction is useful because the investor panel changes over time, while the programme's presenting role has a different function.
Davis is also known for his work in radio and television news, including presenting on the BBC. Dragon's Den is one of his best-known entertainment and factual television roles. The programme's continuity has therefore come from both its recognisable pitch format and its long-running presenter.
