In Dragon's Den, which investor joined the panel in the show's second series?
Answer
Theo Paphitis
Answer
Theo Paphitis
Theo Paphitis joined the Dragon's Den panel in its second series.
The first series launched with Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Simon Woodroffe. Paphitis was added for series two, becoming one of the programme's most recognisable early investors.
His background was in retail and brand building. He had acquired Ryman in 1995 and was also associated with the UK businesses La Senza and Robert Dyas. That experience shaped the retail-focused questions he asked entrepreneurs.
This fact is easy to mix up with Deborah Meaden, who joined later, and with James Caan, who also became a prominent early Dragon. The key distinction is that Paphitis entered in series two, shortly after the programme's 2005 launch.
