Which waterfall in Uganda is formed where the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge?

The story behind the answer

Murchison Falls is the Ugandan waterfall formed where the Nile is forced through a narrow gorge.

The waterfall lies within Murchison Falls National Park, where the Victoria Nile passes through a gorge only about 7 metres wide before plunging approximately 43 metres. The constriction concentrates the river’s force, creating the turbulent spray for which the falls are known.

The waterfall and national park were named after Roderick Murchison, a nineteenth-century Scottish geologist and president of the Royal Geographical Society. The park is Uganda’s largest protected area and supports elephants, giraffes, lions, hippopotamuses and many bird species.

Murchison Falls is sometimes described simply as a Nile waterfall, but it is specifically on the Victoria Nile, the river section flowing between Lake Victoria and Lake Albert.
