Which Turkish bridge crosses the Bosphorus between Ortaköy and Beylerbeyi?

The story behind the answer

The 15 July Martyrs Bridge crosses the Bosphorus between Ortaköy on the European side and Beylerbeyi on the Asian side of Istanbul.

The suspension bridge opened in 1973, on the fiftieth anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. It was originally known as the Bosphorus Bridge and was later renamed the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in 2016 to commemorate people killed while opposing the attempted coup that year.

The bridge carries road traffic and became the first permanent bridge connecting Istanbul’s European and Asian shores. Its main span is 1,074 metres, and its towers rise about 165 metres.

Istanbul has three major road bridges over the Bosphorus. The Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge opened in 1988, while the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge opened in 2016. Their names and locations make them easy to confuse.
