Which dragon-shaped bridge, opened in 2013, crosses the Han River in Da Nang, Vietnam?

The story behind the answer

Dragon Bridge is the dragon-shaped bridge that crosses the Han River in Da Nang, Vietnam.

The bridge opened on 29 March 2013, marking Da Nang’s 38th anniversary of liberation. Its steel structure depicts a dragon moving along the roadway, reflecting the dragon’s importance in Vietnamese cultural symbolism.

Dragon Bridge carries six lanes of traffic and forms a major road connection between Da Nang’s city centre and the eastern side of the Han River, including routes toward the coast and the airport. At night, changing lights emphasize the dragon form.

On selected weekend evenings and holidays, the dragon’s head can emit fire and spray water. This feature makes the bridge especially popular with visitors, but it is separate from the nearby Han River Bridge, Vietnam’s first swing bridge.
