Which bridge carries traffic over the Tagus between Lisbon and Almada and was originally named Salazar Bridge?

The story behind the answer

The 25 de Abril Bridge carries traffic over the Tagus between Lisbon and Almada and was originally named Salazar Bridge.

The suspension bridge opened in 1966 under the Estado Novo regime and was named for Prime Minister António de Oliveira Salazar. After the Carnation Revolution of 25 April 1974, it was renamed to commemorate the revolution’s date.

Its design resembles California’s San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, and the bridge’s steelwork was produced by the American Bridge Company. The crossing carries road traffic on its upper deck and railway traffic on a lower deck added later.

The bridge is sometimes mistaken for the Vasco da Gama Bridge, which also crosses the Tagus near Lisbon. Vasco da Gama is a much longer cable-stayed crossing farther east, while 25 de Abril is the older suspension bridge near the city center.
