Which Soundgarden album featured the hit single “Black Hole Sun”?

Soundgarden’s album featuring the hit single “Black Hole Sun” was Superunknown.

A&M Records released Superunknown on March 8, 1994. It was Soundgarden’s fourth studio album and became the band’s commercial breakthrough, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States.

Chris Cornell wrote “Black Hole Sun” after improvising the song’s vocal melody and lyrics. The surreal music video, directed by Howard Greenhalgh, became one of the era’s most recognizable alternative-rock videos and received heavy rotation on MTV.

Superunknown also includes “Spoonman,” “Fell on Black Days,” and “The Day I Tried to Live.” Listeners sometimes confuse it with Badmotorfinger, Soundgarden’s previous album, which contains “Rusty Cage” and “Outshined” but not “Black Hole Sun.”
