Which Slovenian waterfall is the source of the Savica River and falls about 78 metres?

The story behind the answer

Savica Waterfall is the Slovenian waterfall that forms the source of the Savica River and falls about 78 metres.

Savica is in Triglav National Park near Lake Bohinj. Water emerges from an underground karst system and then drops in two visible streams, giving the waterfall its distinctive A-shaped appearance. The main fall is usually measured at about 78 metres.

The water is associated with Savica Stream, which flows toward Lake Bohinj and forms part of the Sava Bohinjka river system. The karst setting means that underground drainage is central to understanding how the waterfall is supplied.

Savica has an important place in Slovenian literature and culture because poet France Prešeren wrote “The Baptism on the Savica.” It is not the same as Boka Waterfall, another prominent Slovenian waterfall near the Soča Valley.
