Which Seattle band released the 1989 album Louder Than Love?
Answer
Soundgarden
Answer
Soundgarden
Soundgarden released the 1989 album Louder Than Love. A&M Records issued it on September 5, 1989, making it the band’s second studio album and its first release for a major label.
The album followed Soundgarden’s early work on independent labels and helped establish the group’s heavy, experimental version of Seattle rock. Chris Cornell sang and played rhythm guitar, Kim Thayil played lead guitar, and Hiro Yamamoto played bass. Drummer Matt Cameron joined the band during the album’s development.
Louder Than Love is sometimes confused with Badmotorfinger, Soundgarden’s 1991 breakthrough album, or Superunknown, the 1994 album that produced “Black Hole Sun.” Its title came from a phrase used in a review of the band’s earlier music and reflects the record’s deliberately forceful character.
