Which producer worked with Nirvana on the album Nevermind?
Answer
Butch Vig
Answer
Butch Vig
Butch Vig worked with Nirvana as the producer of Nevermind. He recorded the album with the band at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, California, in 1991.
Vig’s production helped balance Nirvana’s raw guitar sound with the clarity needed for a major-label release. He worked closely with Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl during the sessions. Andy Wallace later mixed the album, a role sometimes mistakenly described as production.
Nevermind was released on September 24, 1991, by DGC Records. Its success transformed Nirvana into an international act and made grunge a dominant force in early-1990s popular music.
Steve Albini produced In Utero, not Nevermind. Scott Litt later remixed several Nirvana recordings, while Rick Rubin was associated with other major rock and alternative albums.
