Smearguru is a Smeargle known in Pokémon Pokopia for exceptional painting talent.
The character is one of Pokopia’s special Pokémon encountered as Ditto restores habitats. Smearguru’s name combines the species’ identity with its artistic role, making the character a memorable example of how Pokopia gives familiar Pokémon distinctive personalities and jobs.
Smeargle is especially suitable for this role because the species is associated with painting in the wider Pokémon franchise. Its tail produces a paint-like substance, and the species is known for copying and using moves through its signature move, Sketch.
Smearguru is not a new evolution of Smeargle. It is a named individual character within Pokopia, much like Professor Tangrowth, Chef Dente, DJ Rotom, Mosslax, Peakychu, and Tinkmaster.
