Manaphy teaches Dive in Pokémon Pokopia’s Ver. 2.0.0 update.
The move was added through a free software update connected to the game’s underwater content. Once players learn Dive, they can swim alongside Water-type Pokémon and build underwater, opening access to areas that were previously unreachable.
To learn the move, players must complete the request “Raise the environment level!” in Bleak Beach and already know Surf and how to jump. Manaphy can be befriended in the paid Expansion Pass content, so the update and the DLC work together to introduce the underwater progression.
Dive is easy to confuse with other Water-type moves from Pokémon games, including Waterfall and Whirlpool. In Pokopia, the important function of Dive is exploration and construction: it enables access to submerged regions and supports the new underwater town and furniture systems associated with Bubbly Basin.
