Which Pokémon professor guides the player in Pokémon Pokopia?

Professor Tangrowth guides the player in Pokémon Pokopia.

Professor Tangrowth is a Tangrowth who has taken on the role of studying the abandoned environment. After Ditto discovers the old world, it meets Professor Tangrowth, who is investigating why humans and Pokémon disappeared and how the damaged land might be restored.

This character is different from the human professors who introduce Pokémon regions in the main series. Professor Tangrowth belongs specifically to Pokopia’s post-apocalyptic setting, where Pokémon have inherited the work of understanding a world left behind by humanity. Tangrowth also helps frame the game’s central mystery, so the character is more than a tutorial guide. The name combines the familiar species name with the academic title used by the character.
