Which Pokémon professor-like character guides Ditto in Pokémon Pokopia?

Professor Tangrowth guides Ditto in Pokémon Pokopia.

The character is a Tangrowth who has taken on the role of a professor and studies the damaged environment. Professor Tangrowth meets Ditto in the post-apocalyptic world and works with it to investigate why humans and Pokémon disappeared.

The name can be easy to confuse with the human professors from the main Pokémon games, such as Professor Oak or Professor Rowan. Professor Tangrowth is different: the character is itself a Pokémon, and the title is a role within Pokopia’s story rather than a recurring human professor from the core series.

Professor Tangrowth’s research gives the rebuilding adventure a narrative purpose. Ditto is not simply decorating an empty island; it is helping restore habitats and uncover the history of the abandoned world. The pair’s discoveries eventually reveal information about humanity’s evacuation.
