Which Pokémon professor helps Ditto investigate the world in Pokémon Pokopia?

Professor Tangrowth helps Ditto investigate the world in Pokémon Pokopia.

The character is a Tangrowth who has taken on the title “Professor” and devoted himself to studying the damaged environment. After Ditto discovers an abandoned world, Professor Tangrowth becomes an important guide and assigns tasks connected with restoring habitats.

This role is a playful variation on the familiar human professors of the main Pokémon games. Instead of receiving a starter Pokémon from a human scientist, Ditto encounters a Pokémon researcher who is already trying to understand what happened to the planet.

Professor Tangrowth is also central to the story’s mystery. His investigation concerns why humans and Pokémon disappeared from the region and why the landscape became difficult for life to inhabit. As Ditto completes restoration work, the pair uncover clues left behind by humanity.
