Which mountain range runs along the border between France and Spain?
Answer
The Pyrenees
Answer
The Pyrenees
The Pyrenees mountain range runs along the border between France and Spain.
The Pyrenees stretch for roughly 491 kilometres from the Bay of Biscay in the west to the Mediterranean Sea in the east. They include Andorra, a small independent country situated in the eastern Pyrenees. The range forms a major natural boundary between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe.
Aneto is the highest summit in the Pyrenees, reaching 3,404 metres in Spain. The mountains contain glaciers, deep valleys, and high passes, although their glaciers have shrunk substantially in recent decades.
The Pyrenees are distinct from the Alps, which lie farther east in central Europe. They are also different from the Cantabrian Mountains, which run across northern Spain west of the Pyrenees. The French side includes the Pyrénées National Park, while Spain protects several areas including Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park.
