The Impostor role that can temporarily morph into other players is the Shapeshifter.

Shapeshifter was introduced in Among Us on November 9, 2021, alongside several specialized roles. When its ability is available, an Impostor can copy another player’s appearance, including their color and visual identity, to create misleading evidence or frame an innocent Crewmate.

The transformation is temporary rather than permanent. Depending on the lobby’s settings, the Shapeshifter may also leave clues behind, such as evidence at the location where the disguise was created. That gives Crewmates a chance to reconstruct what happened during a meeting.

The role is easy to confuse with Phantom, but the two abilities differ: Phantoms briefly turn invisible, while Shapeshifters imitate another player. Engineer and Viper are also separate Impostor-related options, with different abilities involving vents and dissolving bodies.
