Which grunge band recorded the 1990 album Apple?

Mother Love Bone recorded the 1990 grunge album Apple.

Apple was Mother Love Bone’s only full-length studio album. The Seattle band featured vocalist Andrew Wood, guitarist Stone Gossard, and bassist Jeff Ament, musicians whose later work would become central to the development of Pearl Jam.

The album was released after Wood’s death in March 1990 from a heroin overdose. His death ended Mother Love Bone just as the group was beginning to attract major-label attention, giving Apple an important and tragic place in Seattle rock history.

Gossard and Ament later formed Temple of the Dog with Chris Cornell and then became founding members of Pearl Jam. Apple is therefore often discussed as a bridge between the late-1980s Seattle scene and the grunge explosion of the early 1990s.
