Which company developed Among Us?

The story behind the answer

InnerSloth developed Among Us. The independent American game studio released the game in 2018 for Android, iOS, and Windows, but it became a worldwide phenomenon much later, during 2020’s surge in online multiplayer gaming and livestreaming.

InnerSloth was founded by Marcus Bromander, Forest Willard, and Amy Liu. Before Among Us, the team was known for games including The Henry Stickmin Collection. Among Us was inspired partly by the party game Mafia and the television game show Werewolf, adapting their hidden-traitor structure into a science-fiction setting.

A common mix-up is confusing InnerSloth with Mojang, Valve, or Electronic Arts. Those companies created Minecraft, the Steam platform and games such as Half-Life, and major franchises including The Sims and Battlefield, respectively; none developed Among Us. InnerSloth also continues to operate the game and has expanded it with new maps, roles, cosmetics, and game modes.
