Ted suspends Alice Chilton after Richmond's Chelsea match in Ted Lasso season 4.
The suspension follows the Women's FA Cup defeat in episode 5, “Riches of Embarrassment.” Alice's increasingly harsh approach has affected the players, and Ted and Beard notice that her negative attitude is damaging the team's confidence.
The players confront Alice during practice, exposing the tension between her demanding methods and the emotional needs of the squad. After the match, Ted asks her to take time to reflect and removes her from the team temporarily.
Alice is Richmond's assistant coach and a former professional midfielder. Multiple ACL injuries ended her playing career, which helps explain both her connection to the sport and her intense coaching style. She later returns to Richmond, so the suspension is not a permanent departure.
