Which bridge in Turkey connects Europe and Asia at Çanakkale across the Dardanelles?

The story behind the answer

The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge connects Europe and Asia at Çanakkale across the Dardanelles.

The suspension bridge opened in 2022 and links the European Gallipoli peninsula with the Asian side near Lapseki. Its name refers to the year of the Gallipoli campaign during the First World War, while the opening date marked the anniversary of the Turkish victory at the Battle of Çanakkale.

Its central span is 2,023 metres, a number chosen to represent the centenary year of the Republic of Turkey in 2023. That span made it the world's longest suspension-bridge main span when it opened.

The bridge provides a road alternative to ferry services across the Dardanelles. It is separate from Istanbul's Bosphorus bridges, which cross a different strait farther northeast.
