Which band released the 1990 album Uncle Anesthesia?
Answer
Screaming Trees
Answer
Screaming Trees
Screaming Trees released the 1990 album Uncle Anesthesia. It was the Washington state band’s fourth studio album and an important release in the period when the Pacific Northwest alternative scene was gaining wider attention.
The album was produced by Terry Date, who also worked with other influential heavy and alternative rock acts. It includes “Bed of Roses,” a song that received significant attention for its melodic approach. Screaming Trees combined psychedelic rock, hard rock, and grunge rather than fitting neatly into one narrow style.
The band’s later album Sweet Oblivion, released in 1992, became its commercial breakthrough, helped by the single “Nearly Lost You.” Mark Lanegan sang for Screaming Trees and later pursued a solo career and collaborations with musicians including members of Queens of the Stone Age. Uncle Anesthesia therefore belongs to the band’s earlier period, before its best-known mainstream success.
