Manaphy teaches Ditto Dive to reach Bubbly Basin in Pokémon Pokopia.
Bubbly Basin is the first new area introduced through the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. It lies underwater, in what was once Cerulean City, and cannot be reached through the ordinary surface routes used in the base game.
To access it, Ditto learns Dive from Manaphy. A Popplio then leads Ditto through a submerged undersea gate to the sunken settlement. The area reflects the game’s broader environmental story: rising sea levels have submerged the former city, leaving trenches and ruins on the ocean floor.
Dive is sometimes confused with Surf because both are strongly associated with water-based Pokémon adventures. In Pokopia, however, the relevant ability is specifically Dive, which enables underwater exploration. Once there, Ditto’s principal project is to construct a large ocean temple at Popplio’s request. The Expansion Pass was released on August 5, 2026.
