Xamot is the twin brother of the Cobra agent Tomax.
Tomax and Xamot Paoli are identical twin brothers who lead Cobra’s elite Crimson Guard. Their names are mirror images, reflecting their close relationship and their habit of operating as a coordinated pair. Xamot is distinguished by a scar on his right cheek, while Tomax’s hair is parted on the opposite side.
The brothers are more than ordinary partners: they share an empathic, often described as psychic, connection known as the Corsican Syndrome. They can communicate without speaking, finish each other’s sentences, and even feel one another’s pain. That link is useful in combat but also creates a vulnerability that the G.I. Joe team can exploit.
Tomax and Xamot debuted in 1985 and also operate Cobra’s respectable corporate front, Extensive Enterprises. Their backgrounds include service in the French Foreign Legion, mercenary work, banking in Zurich, and expertise in espionage, sabotage, propaganda, and corporate law.
