The role that can see vitals is the Scientist. In Among Us, the Scientist is a Crewmate role with a portable Vitals monitor, allowing them to check which players are alive, dead, or disconnected from almost anywhere on the map.

The role arrived in the November 9, 2021 update alongside Engineer, Guardian Angel, and Shapeshifter. Unlike a stationary Vitals panel, which is available only on certain maps and locations, the Scientist’s monitor travels with the player. This makes the role especially useful for tracking sudden deaths before anyone discovers a body.

The ability is not unlimited. Its battery drains while Vitals is open and recharges as the Scientist completes tasks. If the Scientist has finished all assigned tasks, the battery can recharge after a cooldown. A common mix-up is confusing the Scientist with Guardian Angel: Guardian Angel protects living players after death, while Scientist is a living Crewmate role focused on information.
