What is the name of the professor-like Tangrowth in Pokémon Pokopia?

The professor-like Tangrowth in Pokémon Pokopia is called Professor Tangrowth.

Professor Tangrowth is a special character who studies the damaged environment and investigates why humans and Pokémon left the world. The character gives Ditto an important purpose beyond simply collecting materials or decorating a settlement.

Tangrowth is a fitting choice for the role because its plant-like design connects naturally with Pokopia’s themes of regrowth, habitat restoration, and the return of life to abandoned places. The character helps frame the game’s building activities as part of a wider ecological mission.

Professor Tangrowth should not be confused with Professor Oak, the famous human researcher from the original Kanto games. Pokopia deliberately replaces the traditional human professor role with a Pokémon character, reinforcing its unusual post-human setting.
