Answer
Mount Waddington
Answer
Mount Waddington
Mount Waddington is the highest mountain in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, rising to 4,019 metres.
The peak is located in a remote part of the Coast Mountains on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. It is the highest summit entirely within the province and is surrounded by difficult glaciated terrain, including the Waddington Range and extensive icefields.
Mount Waddington was named for Alfred Waddington, a nineteenth-century promoter of transportation routes in British Columbia. The mountain’s first successful ascent was made in 1936 by Fritz Wiessner and William House.
The Coast Mountains extend along the Pacific side of British Columbia and southeastern Alaska. Mount Waddington is distinct from Mount Baker, which is also part of the broader Pacific Northwest mountain region but lies in the Cascade Range in Washington state.
