What is the approximate height of Morocco’s Ouzoud Falls?

The story behind the answer

Ouzoud Falls is approximately 110 metres high in Morocco’s Middle Atlas region.

The waterfall is formed by the Oued Tissakht, which drops over red-cliffed limestone near the village of Tanaghmeilt. Its name comes from a Berber word associated with the process of grinding grain, reflecting the area’s traditional water-powered mills.

Ouzoud is not a single perfectly vertical curtain. It consists of several stepped drops and surrounding pools, so descriptions may give slightly different figures depending on which sections are included.

The falls are among Morocco’s best-known natural attractions and are surrounded by olive trees and tourist paths. Barbary macaques are also associated with the nearby landscape, although visitors should not confuse the waterfall’s height with the depth of its plunge pool.
