On which platform was Lego Island released in 1997?
Answer
Windows
Answer
Windows
Lego Island was released on Windows in 1997.
Developed and published by Mindscape, Lego Island arrived worldwide on September 26, 1997. It was the second Lego video game overall and the first released outside Japan. The game presented a colorful, exploratory island where players could control five different minifigure characters, drive vehicles, complete tasks, and help stop the escaped Brickster.
The Windows answer matters because the game was designed as a personal-computer CD-ROM title, not as a console release. Its package even included a comic book serving as an instruction manual and an Infomaniac minifigure. The other options—PlayStation, Nintendo 64, and Sega Pico—were not release platforms for this original game.
Lego Island became a notable commercial success, selling close to one million copies by 1999. Its popularity led to Lego Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge in 2001 and Island Xtreme Stunts in 2002.
