Which Lego game is a rhythm-game entry in the Rock Band series?

The story behind the answer

Lego Rock Band is the rhythm-game entry in the Rock Band series.

Released in 2009, Lego Rock Band combines Harmonix’s instrument-based music gameplay with Traveller’s Tales’ Lego style. Players perform licensed songs using guitar, bass, drum, and microphone controllers, matching scrolling notes in time with the music.

The game was designed as a family-friendly version of Rock Band. Its console soundtrack contains 45 songs, and its presentation adds Lego characters, building, customization, and humorous story events to the traditional band-career format. Up to four local players can perform together on the console versions.

It is easy to confuse Lego Rock Band with unrelated music-themed Lego titles or with other rhythm games such as Guitar Hero. The important distinction is that this is an official Rock Band series installment, developed by TT Fusion in partnership with Harmonix. Its Lego setting changes the tone and features, but the core rhythm gameplay remains recognizably Rock Band.
