Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is based on which Star Wars trilogy?
Answer
Original trilogy
Answer
Original trilogy
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy is based on the Star Wars original trilogy.
The 2006 game adapts A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi, the three films originally released between 1977 and 1983. It follows the familiar Rebel Alliance-versus-Empire story through Lego-styled levels, characters, vehicles, puzzles, and comic cutscenes.
Traveller’s Tales developed the game as the sequel to Lego Star Wars: The Video Game, which had covered the prequel trilogy. The sequel expanded vehicle stages, improved camera movement, and introduced extensive character customization, allowing players to combine parts from different characters.
The title’s wording is an important clue: “Original Trilogy” refers to Episodes IV–VI, not the later sequel trilogy and not the prequel-era stories. The game was later combined with its predecessor in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, released in 2007.
