Pokémon Pokopia’s worldwide announcement occurred in 2025.
The game was revealed on September 12, 2025, during a Nintendo Direct. Its announcement introduced a very different kind of Pokémon experience: players control a Ditto in human form and rebuild a damaged environment through crafting, construction, and habitat design.
The announcement year came before the game’s release year, 2026. This two-year pairing can be useful when placing Pokopia within the Pokémon franchise’s timeline: the public reveal happened in 2025, while the finished title reached players worldwide on March 5, 2026.
The year should not be confused with the year of its later Expansion Pass announcement or release. The original game’s reveal is specifically tied to the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, which established the title and its Nintendo Switch 2 platform.
