In Pokémon Pokopia, the player controls Ditto as the human-like protagonist.
Rather than playing as a human trainer, players guide a Ditto that uses its transformation ability to imitate a human. This unusual premise lets the game explain its building, crafting, and exploration mechanics through Ditto’s flexible identity.
The protagonist discovers a world abandoned by humans and works to restore habitats for Pokémon. Ditto can also learn moves from Pokémon it befriends, using those abilities to water plants, clear obstacles, and reshape the environment.
This setup is easy to confuse with a conventional Pokémon adventure, where the player controls a human trainer who captures Pokémon. Pokopia instead makes Ditto the central character and focuses on cooperation, cultivation, and creating comfortable habitats. The human-like appearance is therefore part of the story and gameplay, not a separate trainer avatar.
