Pokémon Pokopia features 300 Pokémon at release.
The game’s roster includes 300 Pokémon selected from Generations I through IX. That makes the available collection much larger than the original 151 Pokémon from the first generation, while still being a curated selection rather than the complete National Pokédex.
Pokopia uses its Pokémon roster differently from a conventional battle-focused game. Pokémon appear in habitats that players create, and each species has environmental preferences. For example, a player may need to plant grass beneath a tree or place a punching bag beside a bench to encourage a particular Pokémon to appear.
The number 300 is easy to confuse with other Pokémon game totals, especially the size of regional Pokédexes or the number of species in a generation. In Pokopia, it refers specifically to the Pokémon included in the game, drawn from the first through ninth generations. Later aquatic content also adds new exploration areas and Pokémon through an update.
