How many Pokémon are featured in Pokémon Pokopia at launch and through its listed species roster?

The story behind the answer

Pokémon Pokopia features 300 Pokémon selected from Generations I through IX.

The roster supports the game’s central idea of rebuilding habitats for many different Pokémon. Instead of focusing primarily on gym battles or competitive team building, Pokopia uses its species roster to populate settlements, landscapes, and player-created environments.

The 300 species come from the first nine Pokémon generations, so the game draws from a broad portion of the franchise’s history. That does not mean every Pokémon from those generations appears. The number is a selected roster for this particular spin-off.

Players may confuse the figure with the National Pokédex, which contains far more species and changes as new Pokémon are introduced. Pokopia’s total refers to the game’s own available Pokémon selection. Expansion content can add further Pokémon, so the launch roster and the later expanded roster should not automatically be treated as identical.
