At The Game Awards 2020, Among Us won Best Mobile Game and which other award?

The story behind the answer

At The Game Awards 2020, Among Us won Best Mobile Game and Best Multiplayer Game.

The awards recognized the game’s remarkable 2020 breakout. Among Us had been released in 2018 by the small independent studio Innersloth, but it became a worldwide phenomenon after streamers and video creators brought its deception-focused multiplayer to enormous audiences.

Best Mobile Game reflected the importance of the iOS and Android versions, which made the game easy to access and helped it spread beyond the PC audience. Best Multiplayer Game recognized the central appeal of coordinating tasks, debating suspicions, and voting out suspected Impostors with friends or strangers.

The ceremony took place on December 10, 2020. Among Us was not the winner of Best Indie Game—that award went to Hades—and it did not win Best Ongoing Game or Players’ Voice. The two victories were part of a landmark year for Innersloth, which also used the event to reveal The Airship, a new map that arrived in March 2021.
