Shaun White won the men's snowboard halfpipe gold medal at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
White, representing the United States, scored 97.75 points on his final run to take the title. Japan's Ayumu Hirano won silver with 95.25 points, while Australia's Scott James won bronze with 92.00 points.
The victory made White the first snowboarder to win three Olympic gold medals. His earlier halfpipe titles came at Turin 2006 and Vancouver 2010. He also became the first American male to win gold at three different Winter Olympics.
The PyeongChang result was especially dramatic because White landed a back-to-back 1440 combination on his final run. The event took place at the Phoenix Snow Park in South Korea.
