Who won Best Supporting Actor at the 2026 BAFTAs?
Answer
Sean Penn
Answer
Sean Penn
Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor at the 2026 BAFTAs for his performance in One Battle After Another.
The award was one of six collected by Paul Thomas Anderson’s film, which also won Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography and Editing. Penn played Colonel Steven J. Lockjaw, a powerful military figure whose presence drives much of the film’s conflict.
The category was especially competitive because Penn faced fellow high-profile nominees including Benicio del Toro, Jacob Elordi and Paul Mescal. A common mix-up is to confuse the supporting-actor result with the leading-actor award, which went to Robert Aramayo for I Swear.
Penn’s BAFTA was also notable as his first win at the BAFTA Film Awards. The 79th ceremony took place at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 22 February 2026.
