Who voices Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s Cars films?

Owen Wilson voices Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s Cars films.

Wilson supplies the voice of the confident but inexperienced race car at the center of the series. His performance gives Lightning a recognizable drawl and a comic, self-assured personality that changes as the character learns about friendship and teamwork.

Lightning first appears as a talented rookie focused almost entirely on winning the Piston Cup. After being stranded in Radiator Springs, he develops relationships with characters including Mater, Sally, and Doc Hudson. Later films show him facing international espionage and then adapting to a younger generation of racers.

Wilson is an American actor known for films such as Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, and The Royal Tenenbaums. The Cars role is one of his most prominent voice performances and is closely associated with the franchise’s lead character.
