Which villainous scientist supplies the weapons plot in Pixar’s Cars 2?

Professor Zündapp supplies the weapons plot in Pixar’s Cars 2. He is an eccentric German scientist who works with the criminal group behind the attacks on racers using Allinol.

Zündapp is part of the film’s espionage storyline, which is deliberately modeled on international spy movies rather than the small-town racing focus of the first Cars. His equipment and experiments help the villains manipulate the World Grand Prix and create public fear about the fuel.

The character’s name is a reference to Zündapp, a German motorcycle and machinery manufacturer. The spelling may appear as Zündapp, although English-language materials sometimes omit the umlaut and write Zundapp.

Miles Axlerod is the film’s apparent sponsor and central mastermind, while Zündapp functions as his scientific collaborator. Acer and Grem are henchmen, so they are not the scientist responsible for the technical side of the plot.
