Who voiced Mr. Spacely?

Mel Blanc voiced Mr. Spacely, formally known as Cosmo G. Spacely, in The Jetsons. Spacely is George Jetson’s short-tempered employer and the owner of Spacely Space Sprockets.

Blanc was already one of animation’s most recognizable performers when The Jetsons premiered in 1962. He was famous for creating or performing voices including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Yosemite Sam, Tweety, and many other Looney Tunes characters. His work with Hanna-Barbera also included Barney Rubble and Dino in The Flintstones.

As Spacely, Blanc supplied the character’s explosive, blustering personality. Spacely’s recurring telephone greeting—shouting “Jetson!”—became one of the show’s signature comic moments. He frequently threatens to fire George over minor problems, although George often gets his job back by the end of the episode.

The answer can be confused because several actors voiced Spacely in later projects and specials. Mel Blanc is the canonical answer for the original television series, while performers such as Daws Butler, Jeff Bergman, and others took the role in particular later productions.
